This is not automatic translation. These are integrated systems of computer tools to assist
translation, enabling: the filtering of different formats, regenerating the original format after
the translation has been carried out; creation and use of terminology glossaries in translation
processes; generation and use of translation memories; and they provide the professional translator
with a specialised environment and editor.
Corporate multilingual terminology glossary
List of terms which are specialised or which belong to the culture of a company or institution,
with information regarding their meaning and equivalents in other languages. These glossaries are
stored in a Computer Assisted Translation tools Module that enables them to be used systematically
by all translators in the translation and checking process. They ensure coherence and
standardisation in the translation of key terms.
Translation style guide
Summary of stylistic, orthographic and linguistic rules and conventions that standardise and
homogenise translated texts. It usually contains corporate preferences for linguistic
communication. A guide has to be created for each pair of languages for translation: for example,
there would be one for the Spanish-English language pair and another for English-Spanish.
Is it possible to translate my web site automatically?
Automatic translation alone has not yet reached a standard or quality to give even remotely
acceptable results. The process of translating a text from one language to another is an extremely
complex task which will require human intervention for a long time to come. However, there are
professional programmes on the market that assist professional translators in their work without
attempting automatic translation.
How will I communicate with my foreign customers and users?
If you sell your products over the internet you will already be aware that you can sell them
anywhere in the world. Communication with customers and users in virtual environments is mainly via
email. This is a significant advantage as far as language barriers are concerned as you can have
your emails translated quickly enough to make your customers feel they are being treated as they

Is English the language of the internet?
